Starting the year on a high
Back in November I was contacted by the Features Editor of the “UK’s biggest selling photo magazine”, Practical Photography, and asked if I would like to submit a selection of my images for a new feature that was being planned. After working with the magazine a few months previously I jumped at the opportunity and began working through my portfolio to select my favourite images.
To accompany the images I was tasked with writing a few stories. The feature would take on a Q&A style interview approach. I was sent a selection of questions and my answers would be based on my experiences from my photography journey. Trouble is, I was given a word count of 2000 but found it incredibly hard to stick to it as I had so much to say!
With the images and the text sent off I was treated to a sneaky preview of how the layout would look in the magazine. I was asked to supply some captions to accompany the images and duly sent them off. It was they a case of waiting for the magazine to go on sale in January 2019.
It’s safe to say that I was a little bit excited when the magazine dropped through the letterbox. From reading the comments on the Practical Photography Talk facebook page I was very pleases with how the article was received. There is also something very, very pleasing about seeing your images printed in a magazine too!
I’d like to offer a very big thanks to all the staff at Practical Photography Magazine and hope to be able to work with you again.
